SUNFLOWER STATE GAMES TICKET LUCKY FOR TOPEKA RESIDENT

TOPEKA, KAN. – Every day, Fred Lee Rookstool plays Kansas Lottery games. The Topeka resident usually buys Bonus Crossword tickets or pull tab games. However yesterday, he thought he’d give something new a try and purchased several $2 Sunflower State Games 2009 instant scratch tickets, one of which was a $10,000 winner!
“I bought three Sunflower State Games tickets and won, so I bought eight more,” explained Rookstool. “One of those eight tickets was the $10,000 winner. I couldn’t believe it.”
Rookstool, who works for RD Little Construction, put his winning ticket in his wallet for safekeeping.
“Since I’m putting on roofs right now, I wanted to make sure my ticket didn’t get lost,” said Rookstool.
Even after winning a top prize, Rookstool said he’ll continue to play Kansas Lottery games.
“I play $5 a day,” said Rookstool. “Maybe I’ll win again.”
Rookstool plans to pay bills with his prize. The winning ticket was purchased at Kwik Shop 729, located at 1700 SW Topeka Blvd. in Topeka.
